Im thinking about entering my neon at the local oval track, next summer. So, this means I have all winter to get her ready. What basic mods do you think I should od before I race?

well suspension is a must. lower the car, get strut and sway bars. also tires are important. performance mods depend on the class you are running in. what class are you?

Its all one big class, its called spectator drags. I'll be running with cars from vw's to stangs. I have to replace my front struts, if I can get enough cash I hope to do all four and lower it. I was looking at some kits running upwards of 1500, but that was for a 2.5 inch drop. As far as tires, whats a good brand, Im pretty sure Im going with 17' rims. Any additional info is great, Im still a noob and learning.

well for the suspension i would reccomend tokico hp blues with some eibach sportlines. the struts are amazing and the sportlines give you a 2" drop. not too sure about the tires though, but the last thing you want is o slide off the track into the wall or some other car. you also want to beef up your breaks, like some drilled/slotted rotors and get some better acceleration

your def gonna want cold air intake and exhaust at the very least for engine mods.... its hard to pull alot of power out of our cars unless you turbo but those 2 things will help a little..... do you have a man or auto?

i made the mistake of not getting the track rules BEFORE i started building a racecar.

getting the rules is your first step.

Its an auto 00 ES, which means slow. I take hondas of the line. I know I will have no chance against the stangs unless I can out handle and drive them. Most are drag cars, built to go straight.Thing that sucks the most is Im in the process of moving and Im really short on cash. I hate to go cheap, I know that means I'll get what I pay for. I was thinking of going with som stock struts with lowering springs, but the ride uality is crap. Either that or srt-4 struts.
