Default Aftermarket udps then back to stock

My story:
I started off by getting the AFX udp. Since I have a sound system, that wasn't cutting it b/c it wasn't sending enough power to my battery. I also believe the AFX udp decreased the life of my power steering pump and alternator. I ended up getting both of those replaced.
Then I customized an udp from Modern performance. I said I wanted the stock size but the lightness of the MPX udp. That ended up breaking belts about 3 or 4 times.
Finally I got tired of the problems so I ordered a stock udp from Modern performance and I'm back to square 1. I wont ever mess with an aftermarket udp anymore.

Yeah this is why I keep refraining from buying a UDP. If you look at the paper-logic of this thing it's GIVING YOUR ACCESSORIES LESS POWER. I don't understand how people can bolt this on and not worry about it ruining things! Even if you get a volt meter you can what, watch your demise with accuracy?

Thanks for your post...a few of your comments were the deciding factor in me not getting a udp.

dang bro, that sucks. Thats weird that the custom one broke so many belts. Why would it do that? I mean...just lighter. I didn't think less power would do anything to anything. I have heard that its makes stuff last longer because its not using the stuff as much...but idk. I have heard complaints.

Try running a 8800GTX on a 250-watt power supply and see how not giving enough power to something can ruin it

I don't think you should mess with an aftermarket udp anymore anyway... Your priorities are skewed.

Wasting you money on performance mods is silly when you add the weight of a "sound system" to cancle out any added power... I wish i had money to throw away.
