Default Power steering question....

Ok, well, some of you guys know that my gf's black neon was hit by a bobcat... so... we got a nissan versa rental car... (only car they had) Anyway... well, while comparing... i realize that it's a lot easier to turn the steering wheel on the nissan than my dodge neon... and personally, i like it a lot... just because it felt as if the car's more responsive (even though it's probably the same). So my question is.. is there anyway to mod the neon in a way so that the steering wheel would be easier to turn? (ex not as tight?). Thanks guys!

the wider tires that you prolly have make the steering seem tighter.

my neon with 185-65-14'sis way easier to turn than the one with 185-60-15's

There isnt anyway to modify the power steering, and as far as performance goes, tighter is better (to a certain point obviously). Thats why cars like the new M3 have two sterring ratios, one tighter performance steering ratio, and one "touring" steering ratio. The steering on the Versa you drove for instance, gives the false impression of better steering response, but its not making the steering any better, its just taking away the "feel" from the driver...

My fluid level shows that it's full, but it still has this whining when I turn...which makes me think it's actually low. Is that a problem with anyone else.

That is a common problem with neons, and i've read that changing the power steering pump out can fix it...
