RE: Question on painting third brake light
Believe me, if you plan on driving through Arizona, you want to replace the original red third brake light. As for if they are required, all cars sold in the United States since 1986 have been required to have the third brake light. I don't know of any state that allows any other color than red for them. I can see painting or using a decal to block the color of anything not part of the name NEON, but not a blue brake light. Arizona doesn't even allow blue dots in tail lights. I have a little story about the third brake light, but no one ever believes me. Maybe I'll relate it some day.
