Default 2001 Dodge Neon Badges

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a question. I was wondering how hard it is to replace the side door badges and decklid badges on an 01 Dodge Neon? My badges are flaking the chrome off and showing the black plastic underneath. The badges just look really crappy on a silver car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

most of us take them off and leave them off... They are stuck on with double sided tape, so if you can find new ones they are easy to replace.

How should I take them off? With a heat gun or what? I hope if I take them off the sun hasn't burnt the name in the paint, lol.

Just get a blow dryer or wait for a hot day and peel them off with your fingernails. Then get some WD-40 to get rid of any remaining residue. Looks a lot better IMO. You can do the same for the door guards (I know it sounds stupid butthey are so low that most people's doors will hit above the guardsanyways).

Looks like I gota project this weekend along with an oil change. Thanks for the tips. If the words are still visible (I hope not!) I'll just go buy some new badges.

Could also use like 20lbfishing line, in a sawing motion too, to take the badges off. Thats what I did on the cavalier I used to have. Then I just clean up the area with some "Goo Gone". After I washed the car like 2 or 3 times, you couldnt even tell anything had been there.

Yeah Goo-Gone really works. Bought a car where somone had previously put a badge on and the outline of the glue was still there and it took it right off.

Goo Gone didn't do it for me, I still have the lines visible. Then again my paint is probably 6 years old.

I need to claybar it really, that'll take it out....just too lazy.
