I don't know about NEW-Gen but I work at a ford dealership and yes they are the 4.0's out of the explorer and Ranger. Yes they are stout. And yes the 'Stang should kick your ***. But hey it is fun. I can out turn them and harass the crap out of them though.

 

Well I called them "new-gen" because the 4.0 that used to be in the Rangers had 45 less hp than the 4.0 that got started in the Explorer... and after 2000 or so they started phasing out the old 4.0 and started putting the Explorer 4.0 in the Ranger instead... keep in mind they were completely different engines. And now the slight variation of that Explorer-born engine can be found in the new Explorers, Rangers, and of course Mustangs.

 

I was just making sure you were not calling the ones in the mustang a new breed on its own or released just for the stang or something. I know when my dad got his 99 Explorer it was already over 200 HP for the V-6 so nothing really new. Yes they have updated it over time as they do.

well we did run 3 times all 3 he won they said he got by 2-3 cars,2 from digs, we raced at a 20 roll and that was the better chance i had he got me by a 1. off the line their dangerous
