I would disagree with the controling thing I control my auto sxt just fine they are just as good controling wise than 5speeds and my turboed 1st gen can take alot of 5speed neons and even my sxt has fun with 5speeds neons . Its all in what you think and have . I just hate it when anyone puts down an auto . You can make anything fast with the right mods and money.

 

no no no, i like my auto... i just liked driving a 5 spd better.. and by control i meant how fast and when you shift.. stuff like that.. not the actual control aspect of driving.. sorry for the confusion

 

Yeah I have gotten reved at and messed with alot. Once wasa Jetta VR6 that was going fast and I waited till he went to the left of me to pass me then I gunned it and couldnt keep up for ****. Thena Caddy CTS did the samething to me and left me standing still basicly. Lastly a regular ol Jetta tried and we raced and I won that time. Woot 1-3 so far.

 

you have a lot of control with stick . With auto u have to wait till it wants to downshift and that slows you down alot. Manual u can control your shifts

 

with the atx you can drop to third when you want, or first if you'r moving slow enough, no second though

 

I never have that with my auto and autos are just as fun to drive as 5speeds . Ive had both . I would love to have an srt8 charger as my next auto.

 

well with a charger, you'd leave everything on the hwy in the dust.. lol.. but Pharmboy, do you just drop it into the "3" position or do you go down to the "1" to?

 

I will also get more attention good and bad with the srt8 its either that or a caliber srt4 .

 

i'll go down to 1 around corners and usually leave it in 1 in parking lots, revs up and if you hold at around 3000rpm then punch it if feels kinda cool almost like it has an engine

 

Being level-headed about the mtx vs atx, I like how easy it is to drive and rely on the tranny to shift itself...but I care about performance, of which the ATX in a neon has none.
