some electrical issues.....
ok, so a few weeks ago i noticed that when i would start the gar the gauges would go all the way to the end a few times before resting in the normal place........ then it got hard to start, would turn and turn, then it would just click like the car was dead but if i waited 10 sec. and tried again it would start up.....
So i thought it was the battery cables since they were much corroded, put new ones in and it still does it....
now when i am driving the headlights go almost dead and fad in and out, then i slow down to stop, the stereo turns of untill i get back on the gas, and now the gauges are going nuts all the time, all electronics are dimming in and out, and ever warning lights flashes on and off!!
i have cel p0563 (high voltage)
Also when i have the heater on, the air intermittantly gets cold......maby the belt is not turning, so the alternator gets no power, and the water pump does not pump?????

i was thinking that the serpentine belt is lose (or gone)..... no i havnt looked yet, it just got this bad on the way to work today, i just need some ideas for tonight!!!

Ok, do you have power steering still? if so it's not the serpentine
I think the Alt has it's own belt, and it has to be spinning because it's connected to the crank. and apparently you still have power so the belt isnt broken.
my best bet would be the alternator.
how many miles are on it?
did you check all the fuses?

their is only about 40,000 in the motor and belts, but if i remember correctly i used my old alt. wich would make it about 150,000 miles....... yeah i stll have power steering. This is weird, i just took it too get lunch and besides the gauges at start up its like thier is nothing wrong????? but my wife has had the car while i have been on vaction and she said it has done this the whole time. fuses are all good.
have the Alt tested!!! 140k Mi on it? you might want to have it checked
