Couple friends of mine are thinking about going on a road trip. And while my friends RSX is a hell of a lot better built than mine...i'm wondering if i can trust this car on a long drive. My RPM's fluctuate when I have the AC on, any reason you guys think it might do that?

Aside from that, what precuations should be taken to ensure my car doesn't explode on the way over there? I figure I would flush tranny fluid, change oil, clean k&n, and put the stock muffler back on

LOL before a road trip i always check all fluids and tire pressure. if i its been a while since i changed sometin, then ill change it a couple days before da trip.

 

im taking a 700 mi 10 hr trip to see my girl. and I'm wondering the same. I have faith in my ride and I think she can do it, as long as I change the oil before hand and the trans (needs it anyway)

 

Gas is going to be expensive.

 

100 each way at about 250-300/tank about 25 to fill up i've gotten 220mi/tank combination city highway

I get 25-27MPG combination and at 10 gallons before i fill up thats 250 miles. im sure i will get close to 30 MPG all highway

 

Ive taken alot of road trips in my 04 sxt thats why she has the miles on her like she does. All we do is change the oil and check the fliuds and were set.

 

Do it. I've done it with my neon several times. Hasn't let me down yet, it has been very dependable. Like others have said just make sure fluids are all good and you don't have any problems that you know of before you leave. Long as you are up on regular maintenance you should be set.

 

i took a 16 hour trip in my neon from ohio to florida when i moved down here my parents had to fill up 2 times before i filled up one time bro so the neon is a better choice then the RSX bro

but ya check all the fluids and tire pressure and you will be set

 

OK, good. now all is left is a temp job till christmas
