i was just curious as to why i am able to recieve some hd channels direct from the wall outlet (coaxial). I thought you had to have a special box. I do have the special box receiver but my friend bought a Sammy LCD yesterday and connected it straight from the wall and got HD channels. We both have digital cable in oneroom of the house i dont know if that has anything to do with it.I thought HD could only be output by Component, DVI, or HDMI cables

Coax can do up to 1080 I believe, it just cannot upconvert a signal like HDMI can do. HDMI can make a 720p -> 1080P

Atleast that's how it was explained to me.

If your HDTV has a tuner I think you can receive signal in HD. Mine has a tuner built in...the only thing it means to me is that I only need 1 remote.

damn then i am paying 15 dollars extra for nothing really. My tv has a built in tuner as well. What I did notice is that the channels look a bit better when I am using the box though

Well usually you need the box for more "on-demand" stuff and more channels. I have the box...and I get more channels with it.

COD4 is not working right? I had so many problems last night, but it eventually started working.

good read! That means that what the associates at the big shot stores say is not true, it CAN be transmitted via Coax cables. One other question that I haven't been able to find info on is, my friend and I get Discovery HD straight through the wall, BUT is it because we already pretty much have digital cable running throughout the house even though we only have one box, OR would I be able to connect it at lets say my girlfriends house and get the exact same channels even though she has basic cable?

COD is working now it just takes a lil while.

Johnny Mnemonic is by far one of the stupidest movies i've ever seen. A dolphin? WTF?

Just like that new movie with the cybercrime.

"HE HACKED MY CARS COMPUTER"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH. O RLY? did he convert your VIN to an IP address and hacked it remotely? ROFL. The general public is so naive that people can put just about any **** they can think of with computers and you'll always get SOME dumbass coming out of the theatre going "Well that could happen with computers!"

pulling up an old timeslip, i found some old neon pics before the turbo went in. These are from when i first got it in 2003.

Some other random shots i found...

My buddy's 2.4l 4g64 Sonata block swap in his Mitsu GSX. We added a 60-1 turbo to this thing and a built shep tranny. nothing like spinning all 4 tires all the way to third. Fun car!

A few more pics from a meet we had at my house in MA. (2004)

My brother's old Saab Viggen. 234.9whp @ 5140 // 293.6wtq @ 3620 STOCK!
