Default Neon ECM help

01 Neon with dead ECM. I sent it off to get repaired. They called today... no can do. TOAST. A used can NOT be re-flashed with VIN and SKIM. I have verified that with a couple of the repair techs at a couple differentplaces. A new one is a $1000 bucks. Not an option (yet). The only option at this time is a used ECM with key/tumbler & immobilizer all from a single "donor" car. I have called several places here locally but those items are not found. Anyone know a place or can recommend a place I can call and get these items? Man, I am in need of some help... hold the jokes for now.

Thanks in advance,
Tom.

well he cant pass inspection with that ECM...... so yea... unless u wanna spend a lot of $ you only have a few options... 1) figure out how to remove the skim system and get a Used PCM
2) Buy a brand new one and have ur VIN flashed onto it
3) Buy the one from howell

thats all we can tell you man... take it or leave it

OBDII cars, depending on where you live, do not need to go on the sniffer... Inspection station plug into the OBDII port and scan for codes. no codes and you pass.

yea but they flash it with information when they plug in.... and if there isn't one small section of code that they flash for you will fail.... thus the PCM from Howell will not pass inspection... at least that is what everyone has been saying... i wish someone would just try it so that we all would know for sure.....

I don't think that is true... The OBDII plug in is just looking for codes, it can't tell that anything has been flashed. Technicaly speaking a staged upgrade from Dodge is a re-flashed stock ECU and it doesn't fail as long as you eliminate the ATX error code.

I also have friends that run DSMLink on thier DSMs and Hondata on thier Hondas, they have no problem getting stickers and they flash the info themselves.

I can't try it for you since the state of hawaii has no emission laws and doesn't check anyway. All we have is a visual. Although i do have many friends from back home that are MA state inspecters, and MA is one of the worst states.

back in MA, I used to call my buddy up and tell him i need a sticker. He call me the next day and tell me to come pick it up. lol Nothing like getting a sticker with an EGR code and a Air bag light on.
