I hear a metallic tinkering in the morning when I start my car. When I pop the hood, and listen, it seems to be coming from the underside of the engine, pretty close to the center. It's pretty rhythmic and accelerates when I give the engine some juice. Once theengine is warmed up the tinkering goes away, and during the summer months, it's completely absent.
I noticed it last winter as well. I'm assuming it's just a temperature related thing (and nothing to really worry about), butif any of you can pinpoint it for me it'd put my mind at ease.
Mine too... but funny thing, I swear I didn't do it last year.
Sounds to me like rocker arm/valve adjustment clacking..untill it gets warm
Used to adjust those things frequently on the old VW bugs I used to play with.
but i hate the sound it makes when there in ice on the lower portion of the back window, just above the trunk. it makes a screaching noise till i get out and break it off. drives me crazy.
