NeonOn19s Project thread
Well I was able to gather some posts from other forums that I'm on. I thought that you all would like to look this over, I would also like to here some feedback on what I'm doing... Good and bad reviews... ( i hope on bad... but you never know)
Here we go...
Well.... I lost my pics from where I started my mods... sorry , but this is from the last two years..
This is from Sterling Heights, MI where I lived after getting out of the Marines.

I already had done to the car :
Kamanair Body Kit
VIS Cf Hood
TYC Headlights / taillights
McCullen 8k HID kit
Racing Hart GT5 19"
CBD CF splitter
KW Variant 2 full coilover suspension
Apexi N1 catback exhaust
AEM CAI
Unorthodox UDP
HyperVoltage System
HyperGrounding system
Blue Underbody lighting
Port / polished Head
Audio done for a temp
12" JL W6
500/1 JL
300/4 JL
Polk Momo Carbon Series 6x9
Polk Momo Carbon Series 6.5 (weren't installed yet)

About 2 weeks prior to moving to Houston, we had a heavy rain storm that killed the heart to my car. A Excursion capsized a wave of water over my car, which in turn hydolocked my engine, do to me not installing my bypass filter on my AEM.... Thank God the Insurance covered it and I recieved a new engine.. But lost what all was done in the internals...
In Houston, I did a few shows before I decieded to put it in the body shop...
Here is from one of the shows....

I didn't place due to a SRT club had there members judging the Neons there... so... Of Course all their buddies placed.....
After the show I went to a local audio shop to get my door panels done for teh Polk Momo 6.5 conponents..

Here they are done and colored matched with the rest of the interior panels..

This is with the lighting on

During that time I also purchased a Silver Valve cover from Mancini's Racing

and Installed

After all this was done.... I decieded that my exterior needed a uplift...
So the car went back into the shop... this time a little longer than expected
I was able to get a few photos of the progress....

Its hard to see in the picture... my VIS hood had some road damage so the body shop re cleared the hood and color matched the edge to the rest of the car..

I was accepted for SEMA in Las Vegas in the Extreme Dimensions booth, and was sponsored by TSW wheels.... Unfortunally, my body shop decieded that they were going to slack on the progress.... This pissed me off a little... I still recieved the new rims....

At least I was able to keep them....
A year later......

Its back at the house.... for a short time...
It went back a few more times.. due to some short cuts they did...
Here are some pics of it done....

This is what was done...
Kept the kit... it is still the best looking kit for the 2GN...
Shaved the Doors, and antenna off
Poppers were installed w/ wireless remote
GT Factory 90 degree doors installed
PPG Black Pearl from the radiance collection with a silver pearl added into the clear
Front and rear was re-enforced
CF Hood was re-cleared and colored matched with the rest of the paint...
I did a few shows after this and placed in a few...
here are some pics..

Now this is how it looks now that my season is over for the year....

I sold my rims and tires to a friend... (neon owner... will try to get him on the site...) and still have no rubber yet.. was working on a sponsorship from BF Goodrich, was turned down.... Still have time til next year...
Have More Too Come!!!!! Stay Tuned!!!

Here are some updates
I took off my Intake Manifold to make some changes, I hate the way the casting looks...

I took it off, which seemed a lot easier to do than I thought..

Just a little dirty.... So I took some simple green and brake cleaner to it before I started to sand...

Boy was that fun... The first day went through all my bits, and had to finish that day by hand... :cussing:
THe next day I decided to go and buy a palm sander to finish up. I bought a Black Decker "Mouse" Really nice, it even had sanding accessories to get in those hard to reach areas. It still looks a bit rough, but in time it will look good.

I decided to go head a paint the area I wasn't going to polish..
This is what it turn out like.... I'm happy, have to purchase the polishing kit today for this next week project.

I also have purchased some extras... for the project in the few months...
Boomba Blue Fuel rail.. .should be in this week, I hope

Mattdog Adapter

Fuel pump

HKS BOV

I found out that it didn't come with the flange :cussing: , so now i have to get one.... Oh well....
I have the FMIC mounted already, and sprayed it black with radiator paint, looks good... I have the SRT manifold and turbo with no shaft play. I think it has 3000 miles on it. Down Pipe, Aeromotive 1:1 FPR.
I still need to buy the fittings for the fuel and oil returns. I hope to get it in next week...
Well I got home from work today and there on the front door step was a package....

Finally, now I just need to get my Intake finished so I can install the rail...
Well I got back from Wyoming yesterday and I found these sitting in my garage...

This week I'm getting the them installed...
I also picked these up earlier through the week...

As you can see its SRT-4 front brakes.. these will be installeed shortly... This will get me to install Either a StopTech Big Brake system in the spring or Willwood BBK.
I just relized that I never posted the other parts... Here we go..
Injectors installed on the new fuel rail..

and the Turbo set up..

I hope to start installing shortly...
Well, I have been working on and off the last few days on the front brake swap. Had some trouble in the begining, but the smoke cleared and it looks that I'm back on track.
The R/T knuckle removed...

Might I say that was a pain in the a## with only hand tools..

I cleaned up the SRT knuckles a bit with some paint..

and matched the calibers with the rest of the caliters in silver..

The Knuckle installed, not tighten down yet... ran out of daylight yesterday, and I don't have the best lighting in the garage..

Oh, and eariler this week I was able to get the tires installed... it's going to look nice....

I'll be starting on it all this afternoon through the weekend..
Well, today is a new day....
I finished up the drivers side brake installation with no worries... THANK GOD!!!! Silvr ACR I will keep looking for a steering rack so then I can get the car an alignment. From what I can see it doesn't look so bad. We will see, its not like the car is my DD anyways
But would like it to be safe....
Once I finished that I wanted to see what the wheels look like, and come to find out the OEM lugs work.... YEAH!!!
So here is some pics....
Here is the rear set up, and looks nice.... by the way it is still on stands..

The front shot, with the SRT brakes installed... (Still on the stands)

I thought that this was a cool shot...

And the last two are from a elevated shot....

I still need to bleed the brakes, and the wheels will come off shortly.. need to clean up a bit...
I hope you all like
I was able to work on the Intake Manifold a little today, but the damn cordless drill keeps on heating up... Man I wish I had an air compressor and a high speed polisher.... :banghead:
Here is some pics for ya...

If I'm not totally happy with it, I might just find someone to finish it up....
On a second note... I had to purchase a big investment this week, which means that my Neon project will slow down a bit ...
My Company requested the the managers had to turn in our company vehicles...
So I had to get something to replace it.
I bought a 2007 Chrysler Aspen Limited I got a great deal from the dealership...
well... here is some pics for ya.....

My hands were dirty working on the Intake Manifold today, so I'll have some interior pics up later
yeah... i really didn't like the look of the durango, but when I saw this, I figured that its still Mopar with a 5.7 hemi.... its all good.
Well I'm going to call it quits on the manifold today. I did a test fit back in the engine bay

I still need to clear it.. but I might go ahead and work with it a little more... what do you all think?

Thanks, I had a hard time finding the best kit for the car, i really didn't like most of the kits out there ( too much rice...) I needed to change it up a bit.. I try to do majority of the work myself, but I can only go so far.....

Thanks, everyone!!!!
I tried to go after the Euro styling aspect. I felt that this kit was the best for the job... I willkeep you all posted on the install of the turbo system.. I'mjust missing a few parts right now...
As for future upgrades will be a 13" big brake kit from Rotora, or Stop tech, since Iupgraded to the SRT fronts. I'll look further into the internals of the engine later on, but for the interior, i need to change out the seats to either racing style, or just redoin leather. you should see a difference in the interior next year...
