Default oil light

G.f's '04 neon base model oil light comes on when we start it. Turn the engine off and back on and it goes away. Dealer recently *past 2 weeks* changed the oil. Cold NY climate. Any idea's?

Could simply be a failing sensor. Would advise having it checked out.

If oil level is fine I would assume its the oil sender as well. It will kick the oil light on when the pressure drops too low, so if you the proper amount of oil, the sender is probably bad. I'd get it checked out though.

i hope that your oil pump isnt messed up... b/c a low oil pressure could also be causing the light to come on.... i would go back to the dealer and flip out till they fix it for you....for free .... lol
