Default best way

i know this has come up before but if you have done it or know someone who has what is the best way to remove side decals from the neon....

when i first got my car i put big complete side vinyl on it and well it looks retarded now that im older soooo i want to take it off this xmas break while im out of school. now what is the best way to get it off? i dont want nasty residue and i dont want it to look like crap i already pulled up a little and the paint still looks fine and matches.

i plan on waxing the crap out of it once it comes off but not sure best way to really take it off..... plastic puddy knife and scrap it off? im just afriad to scratch the paint. any advise would be great!

thanks guys.

I used my fingernails. I would say DO NOT use a knife...plastic or not.

You can get some fish line or floss and slowly inch your way with that. I would do that if you don't have nails.

Your paint isn't too old, you should be good.

I bought an SRT-4 a few months ago and it had1 foot by 6 inch decals letters on both sides of the car that read "Street Racing Technology". Not trying to bring unwanted attention, I had to get them off. WD40 is good for taking off adhesive but the decals on the adhesive is THICK! It was taking me about 45 minutes to take off one letter. Now, imagine how long it would have taken me to get off "Street Racing Technology" off of both sides?

Sooooo, I decided to use my car buffer, which has an eight inch wheel, and used a new terry buffing cloth for the wheel. I sprayed WD40 on the terry cloth that I placed on the buffing wheel and on the adhesive letters. Let the WD40 penetrate the adhesive on the letters for a couple of minutes.Turn the buffer on and go to work onthe adhesive. Came right off. You'll see the adhesive ball up and you can pretty much pull some it off with your hands. The adhesive will not stick too much on the wheel as the friction helps keep it off the cloth. You may need to go over on some spots with a rag. Spray the spots with WD40 and wipe off with the rag. Wash, wax and buff. Average time for each letter was about six to ten minutes.

Try it out on a not so noticeable spot.

You know I have to... Try at your own risk. Results may differ from mine. I take no responsibility for any discoloration (if any) or damages.

Good luck.
