Default pacesetter vs: OBX

Im going to be getting the borla catback dual exhaust in the spring/summer...should i be better off waiting till i get that installed to get the header? does it matter? Also i was thinking about the pacesetter header on modernperformace but i see that they have a new one called OBX race header...anyone have anything good/bad to say about that one in comparrision to the pacesetter?? i have a 01 se...

Pacesetter sucks. My brother had one in his Neon and it didn't bolt up very easily, and after a few months it cracked. I think OBX is better than pacesetter.

Pacesetter everything sucks butt. Steer clear of it if you can afford to.

Wow really?? I always heard pacesetter was good i guess i heard wrong...I think what ill do is just save tons of money over the winter and just get the borla catback dual and the borla stainless steel header. whats an extra 200 bucks anyways right? just another 4 weeks of work cause i get paid every 2 weeks which blows. so would it make more sense to put the exhaust on first? then get the header? or does it not really matter???

Pacesetter is a great bang for the buck kind of deal. They bolt up in about five minutes, they're just as easy as any other header. And yeah the paint job sucks but you can get the ceramic coating. If you can go ahead and get the Borla- better to keep it all in the family. If you do the header first or last it doesn't matter unless the exhaust is being welded or clamped, cheaper and easier to get the header on first.

How did the Pacesetter crack? Are you talking about the paint chiping?

I have the header and cat system and it seems fine so far.
The only part I'm not blown away by is the header. The header and exhaust sounds great but, the header cracks (meaning the paint chips) and looks like it's like 10 years old already. I have only had it for like 3-4 months.

If you get the obx race headers, your check engine light will for sure turn on shortly after. I have the borla cat-back exhaust, sounded great w/ the obx race header. but i needed to pass echeck (northeast ohio blows) so i left the header on but got a high flow cat and a new O2 sensor(cuz i fried the old one), everything is great and i still have the awesone sound. good luck!

Wow this thread is old. 3.5 years later, I'd agree that everything named Pacesetter sucks. I ended up replacing my Pacesetter header due to a hole developing. The cat-back is crap too. Sounds good though.
