Default Stock radio

Does anyone know what the specs are for the 2001 Neon SE Factory audio system. I am considering replacing the head unit with something that can play mp3s and has a AUX input for my Sirius PNP.

Why would you need to know stock specs if you are going to take it out anyways and replace it with a new head unit?

As far as I understand the factory radio is not bad, but if you want something that is kickin, go aftermarket with a amp or 2. I believe that there are adapters or mp3 players that are FM modulated, you can tune your radio to acertain station and pick up the MP3.

According to waht I have read, that the at least with the newer neons, the speakers are 4 ohms, and aftermarket head units are rated for 4 ohms. So you shouldn't have to worry about blowing them as long as you don't crank it to full loudness. But then again you shouldn't do that with any stock speakers. I have an alpine in mine and have no problems. I would like to one day replace the stock speakers, but they work for now.
