and 2000-2004 only the SOHC

The 420a is a mitsubishi motor found in the non-turbo eclipse, not neons... you bought the wrong car dude.

Neither one is really better than the other, the DOHC puts out a little more power, but it is mostly just personal preference.

 

I 100% agree with that statement. I would also like to add... Do not underestimate the SOHC.
