Got a problem, need help.
Well lately my car has been shuttering pretty badly when I take off from the starting line. Well yesterday afternoon I went outwith my girlfriend and my family to a restraunt, parked in some spot facing the curb. After the lunch/dinner, I got back in my car and dropped the e-brake down and put it reverse. Looked back and started to hit the gas so I could back up. Well my car just sat there for a moment and so I pressed the gas harder. After I let go the car started moving forward while it was in reverse. It did the same thing while it was in neutral.
Had my dad and me push the car backwards in neutral while the car was turned off. I'm still able to drive it going forward just not backwards. The shuttering problem has stopped but got replaced with the reverse problem.
Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong with it? I drive a 00' Dodge Neon automatic 3 speed.

racingbaby911,
Since you replaced you O2 sensor, I would have to say that maybe the plug isn't connected all the way. I would check that first, and then I would reset the ECU and try it again.
night 709,
yeah i would have to say that the tranny is messed up. I'm looking at your signature and you street race, you just do rolling starts or from a stop. If so, if you are reving you engine and then switching into gear for your runs, then I can say that the auto isn't built for that type of driving. you probalbly damaged part of the tranny. I would get it checked. As for the shuddering, if you have a system, this happend to me. the Tsunami battery termnals was the issues for me. My ground wire to my fuse wasn't fully flush and was arcing. Check your electrical for the shuddering and the check the tranny.

Funny thing is, that when my reverse went out on my car the shuttering stopped. Well I just got my reverse back some how and the shuttering came back as well. So at the time being I'm kind of cunfused on what my car just did.
