Default gauge cluster

Thinking about installing a neon gauge cluster with the tach, but heard that the mileage would not carry over. Could the dealer correct the mileage on the new cluster? Also, is it just plug and play, or do I need an extra component to make the tach work?

If I am not able to transfer the mileage, isn't that against some kind of law, like I am rolling back the odometer or something.

it's only illegal if you get caught... or you can go to your local DMV and fill out a milage change form.
