as far as tranny swapping goes, is it possible to swap a gen 1 mtx into a gen 2 atx?
i keep asking these questions because i wanna know if this junked gen 1 dohc mtx is worth getting to use as a donor...thanks a million again

 

I am pretty sure it will cross, I would probally look at or have the trans service before putting it in.

you have the DOHC for a donner? forget just the tranny pull the engine too. Were talking like 20 more HP. I'd do whatever it takes- feel free to send me the engine- free of charge of course

 

Whichever tranny is goin in the car I would have it serviced, it a MTX, not that expensive to do, and if there is anything severly worn, nows the time to fix it instead of 2 months down the road when you gotta pull the trans again. The DOHC is a better stock motor, but the SOHC has more potential.
