Default Tires Skipping

Hey everyone!
I have a 2000 Neon 2nd gen obviously...almost 107,000 miles on it...yah she's been driven...anyways..curious if any of you know what could be causing my wheels to skip from a take off with really not giving it much gas at all...even worse when taking off uphill from a dead stop...cant be tire tread because the tires are brand new..just about 1.5k miles on them...im assuming the struts are stock..i havent done anything with them since i bought the car a year ago..any ideas / tips are appreciated!

Depends on tires A LOT.... Some are prone to poor winter wet traction. My Yoko Avid H4's on my last car after curing during the summer would slip VERY VERY easily when less than 35 and wet.

thanks for all the input here...I think my best bet on this issue will prob. just be to take it to my mechanic and have them check it over since theres so many variables that could be causing it :-\ .. I hate over-paying those guys lol
