My 2001 Neon is being very profitable to oil and gas companies by consuming too much gas. I don't drive that much, but I have high volume of trips to the gas station.[:@]

I understand service will be the best option, but if there is any thing that can be done to check what is causing that and how to control that.[>:]

My friend was telling me that dealer will have appx. $400 to $500 bill ready for me[:-]. Is there anything cheaper to fix it....

Make sure your tires are properly inflated... No need for any higher octane than 87. And most important, be glad you don't live where i do.

Right now im paying $1.06.9 (yes one dollar, six cents and nine tenths of a cent..lol) cdn/liter
thats the lowest octane.. i have recently seen it around $1/liter but not too often..

 

I paid 2.91, I get bad mpg, but I tend to be heavy on the gas.

I was in Canada in august, I'm quite aware... I was filling up a Toyota Sequoia while i was up there. You got to pay for that free health care somehow.

 

I put in $27 dollars at $2.89 the other day and got 215 miles I believe...so I feel you

 

i put in 3.29 a gallon, oh wait i dont run the low octane stuff in my neon.... good thing the neon is up for the winter... but my olds gets terible gas milage, i have the plugs and wires, but have been kinda lazy and to cold for me to do anything......

 

Haha.. ya.. We sell oil to the USA and yet the prices in the US are way less than what they are here in canada.. We pay enough tax to cover the healthcare deal i think already.. 15% two years ago.. now starting this year its down to 13% (in ontario)... kinda sucks but canada is where its at!! LOL
