Ok. so I got on the throttle abit hard again today. and ever since I got the thing repaired the brake light comes on during hard acceleration. ok. I figure I'm either low on fluid or need a brake change. no biggie, right? Wrong. I think my cluster is FUBAR not only did the light come on but the cluster went wacky. my fuel droped to nothing. the temp went all the way up and the spedo and tach went nuts for abour 2 seconds then everything returned to normal but the fuel gauge which slowly rose from E to just under 1/2 a tank. what's going on?

 

my cluster goes crazy two just at start up b/c the cluster that came in my car didnt have a tack, so i got one,I wouldnt worry about that.check the fuse's and connections from both the lights and the connctions of the wires on the fuse panel.

 

mine didn't come with a tach either and I just swapped the cluster for one with a tach about a week ago and it never "goes crazy", something might not be right.....

kalevra it sounds like something electrical, i think when the cluster is screwed up it shows an error message

 

it doesnt really go crazy it. When i start it up the gauges all go to the highest point, you know the tac would start off at 8k, mph would start from 120, etc..., but yeah it does go down within 15 seconds of being started< most of the time. This happens rarely but sometimes the whole cluster doesnt even turn on, upon start up and when i drive about a mile it would all of a sudden turn on. idk why, none of the connectors on the bottom are damged in any way, but who cares it still works.

When I start my car up the tach and speedo needles max out, then go back down. My car is an00 ES that came with the tach, so I guess its normal.

yea i have the sxt white cluster. It starts up just like my regular one. It sounds like your cluster is dying out or somethin srtgtr34.

Mat00es, i have never heard of the clusters doing that, something may not be right. Is your trip button stuck or something, maybe thats it

 

if his 2000 neon does it too than maybe its just a 2000 neon thing. idk
Cause im positive if it came in his car he never touched it or even tried to remove it.
