loosing gas milege?!?

Default loosing gas milege?!?

hey...my name is dani and im new to the website.

i guess my question is....???

i bought my neon new from the dealer with only 7 miles on.With a full tank of gas withchis app. 10.5 gallons i used to go about 420 miles. Now i barelly go 300. Do you guys know what it is?any sugestions?

i have a 5 speed neon sxt 2005 with about 50,000 miles now.

u have 50k. that's the problem. did u change spark plugs, wires, air filter etc, etc on time?u don't expect at 50k to still get the mileage like when u had 7, do u? i think it's normal.

If i remember correctly you get better gas mileage when the motor breaks in, in which it should be a 50k. So its not normal.
Any codes come up or a check engine light?

If its all city driving, and even if its mixed highway, the 28mpg average (300 from 10.5 gallons) your getting now really isnt that abnormal in my opinion. AS for your engine getting better gas mileage at 50k miles versus 7 miles, I would disagree. Any new engine has already been broken in by the manufacturer, and if any addtional gains would be seen they would happen waay before 50k miles. Again, just do all your regular maintenance (plugs, air filter, oil change, maybe some new spark plug wires, etc...) and then go from there. But all in all, 28mpg isnt all that strange...

hey..sorry i been away for some time.

maintenance is always on time. got new spark plugs kit around 30k other then that i have a cold air intake but i've been cleaning that as well. im thinking i have bad injectors andmaybe ecu needs to be reset....

well i did spark plugs and wires on mine and got increased gas mileage, or go to walmart and get a feul injection done before your oil change (one visit)

My husband told me my neons are getting not so go mpg because you lose in the winter cause of the cold plus gas is on the rise.
