'03 Neon SXT - new noise and jerky shifting in low gears.
2003 Dodge Neon SXT (automatic transmission)
History: (current odo - 60300mi)
About 1 month ago on a road trip (over 800mi) I got a audible whirring sound that could be heard in the cabin coming from under the hood.
Before fault:
I had my transmission fluid flushed about 6-7mo ago.
Fluid is clean and smells fine and level is good.
No OBD errors for transmission.
Had to add about 1 oz. power steering fluid before trip.
After fault:
regular maintenance: oil/filter change, spark plug/wire change, PCV valve/filter replacement, air filter replacement; (have not checked/replaced fuel injectors/pump yet, replaced transmission fluid/filter or checked for loose engine mounts)
Current symptoms:
Whirring sound:
is not as audible outside of vehicle
only audible in low gears (1st-3rd usually, sound will not be heard at higher gears)
sound loudest while accelerating; sound can still be heard while in 1st gear slowing down w/out braking
Radiator fan seems louder than I remember when I bought the car 1.5 yr ago.
Occational click from under hood (unable to locate yet)
Decreased fuel efficiency (I have an small EVAP leak fault code I'm still tracking down, but I'll mention this just in case)
About 70% of the time, I will notice rough shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd (feels like it's jumping gears)
this effect is diminished if I do not 'gun it' on the gas; the effect is diminished about 30% if I keep easy on the gas, I still feel the rough shifting
Diminished engine power
I think this is all I've observed. I have taken it to a transmission shop and they said they saw nothing wrong.
If there's any more information needed, please let me know.
Thank you all in advance.

I also have a 2003 SXT and have similar issues. I hear this weird clicking like sound when my transmission shifts. I also feel a slight jerk mainly shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? I just did a transmission fluid and filter change thinking it would help but its still doing the same thing.
