Default Can Of Worms Question...

-I'm getting new tires for my '05 SXT andwas wondering what you guys think. I'm leaving them the stock sized 185-60-15s. These will also be used year round too.So far I've been looking at the Cooper CS4, BF Goodrich Traction T/A, General Altimax HP, and still looking at others. I was kind of checking out the Yokohama Avid TRZ too, but I had the Avid H4s on my other car and they seemed to cup a bit and started getting noisey.I don't want to get tires that will wear out within a couple years. I also drive from Ohio to Myrtle Beach a couple times a year too. So, anybody have any ideas??

Matt D.

I hope your not being serious, because the stock Goodyear Eagles suck major *** in every category compared to a similarly priced, or even cheaper tire.

-That's why I'm looking at other brands but keeping the stock size. I'm "kind" of leaning towards the Cooper CS4, but just wanted to weigh my other options first. My other car has had Kelly Chargers on it for a few years now. They're good tires, but would be a step backwards for my Neon.

Whenmy sxt was running with 15s I had 205/60/15s in michlin hydroedges and now shes running with 205/50/16s in michlin sports which are more showy and beefer than my hydroedges but the hydroedges handled way better in snow and ice than the sports .

-Well I went with the Cooper CS4s. I got them installed and lifetime rotation and balancing for $338 out the door. I'll let youknow more about them when the weather clears. We just had about 4-5" of snow today. But at least they did better this morning than the stock Eagle LS's did. Those tires were slipping and sliding everywhere. But on the trip home from getting the Coopers, the car handled just fine in the snow.
