Default Magnum engine

Ok so i got a couple of questions. I got an 04 R/T with magnum engine...i have k&n cold air in it buuuuuuut...stupid me i put it in and had the actual intake sitting on the bottom left corner of the engine u know to get it as far away from the engine heat as possible...well over here where i live in texas we have a ****ty drainage system and it floods real easily...was on my way home from work and i live across town. Well water got sucked up and warped the pistons and everything...ended up needing a whole new block which my insurance covered. Anyways i installed the stock intake for right now because if this were to happen again my insurance wouldnt cover it so im waiting till i move out of here to put it back in. But this time i wanna keep it at engine level but was wondering if i could some how put somethin to keep the engine heat away from the actual intake. Would anyone have any suggestions on how i should do that?

Also being as it is a magnum engine anyone have anything i should know about in advance before adding bolt ons or anything else?
I got pulstar plugs and granatelli wires on the way but not doing anything big right now cuz im in skool about to get my electrical engineering degree then ill add more. If anyone could help me out that would b great. Sorry for the essay lol

Damn that's far

As far as bolt ons I would decide now what you want to do with the car as to avoid spending more money than you have to. If you one day have the aspiration to turbo the car, dont bother buying a ****load of N/A parts that you'll one day sell on a forum and make 1/2 your money back.

Otherwise a 60mm Throttle Body, Motor Mount Inserts, Cold Air Intakes without water and tranny mount inserts are nice upgrades.

ya well i didnt pay for the stock intake or anything that was all under inurance...but im thinkin about putting that CAI back on but i want it at engine level this time, pretty much if i open the hood i can see it right there at the top to prevent water from getting in it again. U got any thoughts of a good throttle body cuz i was thinkin bout goin there for my next step

The only R/T's that had a problem with the 60mm TB were some 2003 R/T's for an unknown reason...

And Baddog44, you need to resize your signature picture to a maximum of 500x250 or remove it (DF forum rules).

if ur talking about being able to c the intake and filter then u might be talking about a short ram intake. it sits on top and it doesnt go under da car
