K I HAVE A 00 NEON AND TODAY I CAME HOME AND PARKED IT ,WENT BACK TRIED TO REVERSE AND THE REVERSE WONT WORK AND NEUTRAL TURNED TO ANOTHER FORM OF DRIVE.ITS A 4 DOOR 2.0 LITER.I CHECKED THE TRANNY FLUID THE FLUID IS PINK AND DOESNT SMELL BURNED PLS HELP ANY INFO GREATLY APP.

 

Adjust gearshift cable as follows:
Place gearshift lever in the PARK (P) position.
Loosen shift cable adjustment screw.
Verify transaxle is in the PARK (P) position and the shifter lever is in gated PARK.

Tighten shift cable adjustment screw to 8 Nm (70 inch lbs.) torque.

 

Yea what he said!! your cable slipped somehow.

 

Did you have a cable problem before this, and does it feel loose?
