Soon To Be Replacing 2003 SE
I was wondering; I will be sending the Neon back to the dealer for it's final service in the next couple of months, is there a Chryco that will get better mileage than the miserably poor gas hog that replaced the Neon? I am getting 34-38 mpg with 19 miles (each way) of 50/50 city/highway miles. I was just at the Caliber forum and those things have worse mileage than my 1990 Shadow with an auto. If the Caliber is as good as it gets, I am getting that sick-to-my-stomach feeling that I may have to retire my mount and mosey on to another corral, or find a very low mileage used Neon to replace what I have. What do you folks think? I am a loyal Dodge/Chryco owner, but this is serious. How could Chryco have gone back 20 years and 10 mpg with that thing?
i was in the same position that you are in now this past september. i wanted to replace my neon with another dodge, so i rented a caliber to take on a 1500 mile trip and when i came back i was pretty upset that it wasnt a neon replacement, thats when i decided to buy a used neon. i got a 2005 sxt with 16k miles on it for $10200..... i got it from a 5 star dodge dealer and it came with a 8/80 factory warranty and the balance of the 3/36 bumper to bumper at no charge. you shouldnt have any trouble finding a neon with less than 20k on it for around $9 or 10k with a dodge warranty... dont get suckered into buying an aftermarket warranty, cuz the 5 star dealers give you the factory warranty for free.
i looked at chevy colbalt, but i heard so much crap about them that i changed my mind.

BTW i made this post in the caliber section a while ago, it was in reference to why there are tons ofused 07calibers for sale already.
