Default oil pan????

has anybody bought an morosso oil pan or the obx pan???

the reason i ask i will be turboing soon (waiting on megasquit) but i didn't want to drill and weld on the factory oil pan just my opinion!

but was just wondering if any body has bought one mainly the obx one it is a little cheaper to. but the on modrern performance the review says that the morosso will leak after a few thousand mile??

and also the one modern sells says it is for the 95-99, but isn't the blocks (sohc of course) all the same they just changed the heads. my car is 01 rt but i pretty sure it would fit just wanted to double check?

thanks louie

Default RE: oil pan????

the moroso will only leak if the gaskets aren't sealed properly and/or the pan itself isn't tightened to the block correctly/tight enough. The downside of the moroso pan is that it goes from 4.5qt. oil change to a 6.75qt oil change... but i guess if you are going turbo the moroso oil pan would be the best choice for that application. Just dont get lazy with the install or else you WILL have leaking problems.... make sure you torque the bolts to spec and make sure the gasket is stuck in place with RTV sealant to the groove in the oil pan and make sure you scrape ALL of the old gasket material off, if you dont you will most certainly not get a good seal. I hope that helps...
