I'm thinking about going into my 00 Neons engine and taking the titanium retainers out myself. I'm debating on putting some cam 14s in my SRT-4 when I change my timing belt and the titanium retainers would save me some money if I can do the labor myself. I wouldn't quite call myself a mechanic but I've learned a lot by taking off bolt on parts like the Indy, TB, etc.
If I do this, I'm not going to pay my mechanic again to go into my engine and take those out b/c I might as well buy them.

im not sure the retainers in your 2000 neon are the same size as the SRT4's..... but good luck..... u will need the right tools for the job though

They gave me retainers at first but I told the orthodontist if I could get the permanent ones that go in the back of your teeth so I don't have to worry about wearing them every night and he said it "wasn't in his style". So i went to another ortho and got them installed for like $50 bucks.
