Magnaflow
I have a 2000 neon with an AEM intake, I just recently put a magnaflow exhaust on it and it doesn't seem be very loud, I still have the stock headers on it...would changing the headers make it louder or what should I do? Also is it possible to get the tail lights of an 03 neon on an 00?
03 lights on a 2000, possible yes, but will look very odd. The bumpers are not the same from 00-02 to 03-05. The magnaflow exhaust is not designed to be loud IMO. I have the cat back exhaust and it also has a low rumble to it, not very loud, but it sounds very nice when you get closer to WOT. If loud is what you are looking for, go with an SRT exhaust like some people on here have. It sounds like crap w/o a cherrybomb or glasspack though. A loud exhaust IMO will get annoying fast. I'm not exactly sure how the header would change the tone because I already had the header on when I got the Magnaflow, but I'm pretty sure it will change the tone and maybe make it a tad bit louder.
You can also use the search function at the top of the page and type in exhaust sounds, or videos under 2nd gen Neon. There you will find videos of several exhaust set ups and what people think of them etc.

imo if you want a LOUD exhaust, using a canister muffler is the way to go. basically its just a resonated pipe packed with insulation. most mufflers like magnaflow, pacesetter and etc are regular mufflers with baffeling plates installed inside them. a canister muffler is basically like running your car with no muffler as far as sound goes but the resonater and insulation make the noise smoother. if you do go the canister muffler route, i suggest getting one with a double walled tip on the end or else the noise you get from the tip vibrating at wot will make your ride sound raspy like one of those riceburners.
I like the way my FlowMaster 50 Delta sounds. Not loud but has a nice, throaty sound to it. As has been said, Loud can get pretty anoying especially if you've got a headache already and have to drive someplace.
I have a magnaflow resonator on mine. The tone is totaly different with the stock air box in it. I had a cia in it before and it was a little loud and sputtery at high rpm, now with the stock airbox back in it, it sounds alot better to me, quieter and more smooth.I'll get a new sound clip up for it tomorow. I have one with the srt rear section and the cai on it in my signature. now I only have the resonator. Got rid of the rear section and the cai.sound to come.
Do you think the newer bumper fit without any modification?.....thanks for all the answers
