my first car show
yeah but airwolf, it sounds like you and dt live in small towns, me and inthewerks live in a big city so we gotta do something. And dt i know how you feel, i have had that hppen to me before
I actually live in a big city and go to smaller towns for my carshows. Im not into big carshows just not my thing or many local shows either . But going to try to go to a hot import nights to see how my rides going to fit in at one of those when shes finished very soon . Hin is not until summer anyways.
the reason i didnt place at this show was because it was on the outskirts of tucson in a town called marana and they were mostly into the resto mod cars like the 64 challengers and malibus and bucket rods and stuff like that. this one kid saw my car and told his dad to check it out and right in front of me his dad said it was a newer car and they just came to see the old hotrods. pissed me off. oh well, i have an a sportcompact gathering im going to on the 16th, and ill probably be the only domestic there so i know ill turn a few heads. no prizes though. my next trophy show is at another highschool on the 29th.
yeah my sxt doesnt place like ina mopar show its all classic and pt crusiers . But I go for the fun and to show off my ride not really to place . But its cool when she does. I pick and choose my carshows only the shows that have tuner classses are the ones I really go to and always place.
i go to the local shows just becasue it is quick and easy.... the good shows by me are about a hour to 2 hr drive.... and carlisle is a 4.5 hr drive..... but this year i will go to the car shows in my town.... just to **** off the old people, kinda like i did last year.... the sad thing is at the fathers day car show i pulled in and there was a guy that looked at the group of people i was with and said "why would u want to show a rice burner" i walked up to the guy and said...
"what did u bring to the show?"
he looked at me and said that 68 mustang (pointing to a red nice lookin mustang)
(i owed a 67 a few years back)
289 or 302 i asked
he said well.. 289...
i asked him is it stock???
well i think so he replied......
i looked at him and just said that is kinda sad but my car with half as many cylinders put out more power than urs does?????
needless to say it started alot of ****.... it accually got pritty ugly at the show, becasue i pointed at my boost gauge and asked him if he even knew what boost is?? the sad thing is he had not god damn idea...... all i told him was he better learn more about cars before startin stuff with us "tuners" it is those kind of idiots that i can not stand at show, the know it alls that just had the money and bought a car..... and have no idea how it even works....

yeah, and the sad thing.... is it was only a two barrel carb......[8D]...... single exhaust......
dont get me wrong i love theOLD mustangs.... but for a muscle car, deff not.... if it was an old mach 1, or 68 shelby with the 429 cj in it..... then that is the ****.... but it was a coupe pritty much stock........[:'(] i owned one, and i liked it, but i would not go race anything with it... more ofa cruizer car than anything....
