Like I said before, no. I had the race ECU on with a cat for over two years. When I switched to the Kirk header the cat was still fine. I get anywhere from 260 - 350 miles per tank. All depends on how much go pedal I use.

I don't get good gas mileage. And I go through cats like crazy. I've replaced 2 cats in the past 3 years.

All in all though the AF/X race is a pretty good computer.

Do U have to replace the cat converter specifically b/c of the race computer or is it also the turbo and all of the other mods you have that are contributing? How do you know when you have to replace the converter?[&:]

That's crazy how you get that many miles per tank. I average around 230-240 miles per tank when I step on the gas from time to time. When I use highways and a little roads with lights, I normally get 260-280 per tank. The max I think I have ever gone was like 280 something.

When I drive non-stop from central Oregon to Seattle, I can do it on one tank. The trip is just over 350 miles. I average about 70-75 mph for most the drive. Sometimes more.

I'm sure I have some underlying issue as well, but generally it is because of the computer, it dumps fuel like mad.

I am leaning towards getting a AFX Computer really soon (unless I change my mind and go with the fiberglass hood). I was wondering which computer I should get (street or racing). As far as the engine, I currently have the Pacesetter header and cat-back system, AEM CAI, AFX underdrive pulley, Accel 19lb fuel injectors, 60mm throttle body and Prothane Motor Mount Inserts. I think that's it. Well anyway, how much hp do you think I will get out of the street computer and how much with the racing computer? Are any additional products or bolt-on products required?
I wan't my engine to last for a while too[&:].

Installation:
Where exactly is the computer located? Wouldn't I have to remove my cold air intake?
Unless your planning on a #14 cam or LT header just get the street. IMO

Mopar makes SFA for your neon performance wise, Howell(AF/X) is the only one to make ECU's for 00-02 Neons

The problem with Howell is they are too expensive and IMO I would rather have a brand new computer.
