OK well the dealership is stumped too, and they've screwed it up even worse. They messed with the plugs & wires & now it's misfiring, runnign rough as hell & chugging, the engine light is now back on &FLASHES when I idle, and it's throwing P0627.

Oh and they can't figure out why it's making a wierd popping sound while I drive either. It sounds like the engine is smacking around in there.

I'm gonna lose my damn mind over this car.FYI- dontever buy a car from car factory in OKC, they'll sell you lemon after lemon.

Theres a post in here about changing motor mount rubber too. But if your car is throwing out codes then its some thing like a sensor. I'm having the same shaking problem but I've seen that my motor moves way to much when I put it in drive. So im gonna try the motor mounts for 30 bucks from modern. See what happens

OK guys, mystery solved, and it's just as I feared....

It's a damn burnt valve. Oh, my poor car.

It's ok though, it's all under warranty & the dealership is paying for everything. They gave me a brand new Hyundai to drive while it's in the shop too, so I'm not too upset.

How can you tell if it's burnt or not? I think mine is because something smells burnt like all the time

It had about 74,500 on it when I bought it & I put about 2k more on when it went bad. Apparently they're rebuilding the whole engine so it must have been pretty bad. It was fairly obvious that whoever had the car before me did NOT take care of it at all, which is probably why it went bad so early.

What is your car doing Adionik? Mine was dropping RPMs at idle, misfiring, and making a rhythmic popping noise. I had maybe a real slight burnt smell, but nothing out of the ordinary. If you're really worried just take it to a mechanic & have them check the valves or pop the head off yourself if you feel confident doing that.

^^^^^^^i have read that it's normal for the neon to do that. I could be wrong but a lot of people experience the same problem including myself. My car runs fine though
same here. all three of my neons have done it more than a few times. i never had it fixed or even thought twice about it.
