Default Belt Tensioner

My belt Tensioner pully went out on my 03 Neon, any one here every replaced one? I need to know how to do it and where to get the part? dealership says the part is on back order? and is $108, my friends shop tells me he can get one in, but wants $180 for the part!!

I'd try some of the local J-Yards. Find a low miles car and pull the part you need.

So no one on here has had to replace one yet? I thought for sure I'd have more info then what I got, oh well guess I'll go post it on another site and see what I can get.

I assume your talking about the PS/AC belt tensioner correct?

Yes that would be the one, and what I ended up doing was going to NAPA and finding a pully there that was the same size around and had the same size bearing in it, but it was just a little wider but because it is plasic it was easy to sand down until it fit and it works just fine and only cost me $15!!!!

Mine went out last week and they are on National backorder for like a month. The part only costs like 12-15 bucks. But do what ^^^ said. The auto mechanics helped me out by taking the part of, refurbishing it and fixing it, and putting it back on, and it works perfectly. Good luck!

In case any one needs it here is the NAPA part number for the pully I used.
38018 NBH & it's $14.55
