I need some opinions
Well my car was bought with everything seen on it minus the wing, headlights for 2300 dollars with 60k miles.
If i were you i would tell the guy that the neons isnt worth that much.
You should print out the kbb(kelley blue book) value for the car and stick the paper in his face and tell him" If I am to buy this car this would be how much I'll buy it for..."

id say try to work it down neons r good cars id be better to go dodge than ford, fords are deffinitly garbage as for 1600 to spend on parts itll get you the basicsif you looking for loud there are so many exausts"folger cans" out there as well as a intake, and to look sporty youll need a wing some tint and rims but thats kind of ricing it out

First let me start off by saying that I live in Northern MI so overpaying for cars is always expected. Next let me add that I don't know much about cars, just the basics. That being said, I have about $5,600 to spend on a new car because my old car (ford focus) is shot. I'm going to take a look at a 2001 Dodge Neon tommorrow. The car has 95k miles and is selling for $4,000.
1. Is a 01 Neon with that many miles worth 4 grand?
2. Will the extra $1,600 be enough to make the car reasonably cool? (IE. loud, sporty)

I would look around online and have one shipped to me for a better price than that. With 95xxx on it your looking a lot of little things that may need to be done on it very soon. I would look around and wait. No way on the FORD
I have a 00 with 136000 miles, which hasn't had any of the basic work(waterpump, timing belt, etc) done and its still going strong. Now, when it wamrs up all that is getting done anyway. What went on yoru focus? I've never heard anything bad about the focus, but then again I've never cared to listen.

like everyone said, NO
you will need a timing belt/water pump/tensioner around 105k and thats at least 500-1000 bucks
all the bushings are probably bad now. thats another 400++ or so
the struts are deffinately bad, thats another 800-1000++
add to the list guys of what goes to crap at or about 100k miles.

i choose option C. keep looking around for a better deal. im pretty sure a few minutes of looking online you'll find a couple of neons with less miles, or cheaper. while you at it try looking for a 01-02 rt.
