I need some opinions
First let me start off by saying that I live in Northern MI so overpaying for cars is always expected. Next let me add that I don't know much about cars, just the basics. That being said, I have about $5,600 to spend on a new car because my old car (ford focus) is shot. I'm going to take a look at a 2001 Dodge Neon tommorrow. The car has 95k miles and is selling for $4,000.
1. Is a 01 Neon with that many miles worth 4 grand?
2. Will the extra $1,600 be enough to make the car reasonably cool? (IE. loud, sporty)

i say it is too much, but you can make them look good, pics would help. Because of course get rims, exhaust, intake. So you need about 2k. If the lights are in bad shape, should get new ones. Maybe if you can get it for 3k
Mileage does seem high for that price, you can definitely work it down [sm=smiley20.gif]

This is the kelly Blue Book values. You are getting ripped off. I paid $4000 for my 2001 Neon and it was the worst investment I have made. Honestly, stick with the Focus. My dad used to have one and we never had a problem with it.

the only problem i've had with mine *crosses fingers* is my motor mount issue and the mysterious idling problem. Like i said work them down on the price and you have a nice car. Get a mechanic to inspect it too. I paid 5200 for my 01 in 2004. My pops checked it out and everything was good.
