For starters, on the 6" wide SRT wheels the absolute widest tire you should run is 215 (in my opinion 205's), and even then its still pushing it since these are only 6" wide rims. As far as the sidewalls: 40-series on the SRT rims is just as "dangerous" or just as "safe" as running 40-series on any other alloy wheel, the SRT wheels arent anything different in this regard. The only way 40 series tires could be considered "dangerous" is the fact they are physically more likely to burst from potholes and other things like that, but in my personal experience this risk is very very small. If your concerned about ride quality or plan on driving through massive pothole laden roads then any low profile tire or larger wheels are out of the question anyways.

As far as struts are concerned, the Tokico HP Blues (or the inferior KYB GR-2's) will allow you to run a larger sidewall and wider tire, however, you also have to take into account the speedometer variance as the overall tire diameter changes from stock. With a 205-40-17 tire the change will be minimal since the increased diameter of the wheel is offset by the "thinner" sidewall, but as you go with a larger diamater AND larger sidewall then the speedometer will be off...

 

03neonRT, so i have two questions for you. Is the drop the same front and back for the tociko blues. Two if i went with the blues could i run a wider tire on my rims, like a 225/40/18 or a 225/35/18 on my 7.5 rims?

 

Eibachs website says 2.0 in front 2.4 in rear. I want to go with the tokico hp blues. I heard they will take the beating from the eibach springs better than the rest. So 215 40 17 is my best bet. I dont mind a stiffer ride just wanted to make sure the size was ok.. Thanks for all your help everyone

I heard the struts lowered it a bit. I'll take you word contagious, just wish the neon god would chip in. So i'll need to find some springs that lower it evenly.

 

Does anyone know the clearances on KYB GR2 struts? Can I run 205/50/17?? thanks yall.

 

im pretty sure if u get them made for an srt they will clear a 50 series tire. i heard dat u can run a 50 series tire on any aftermarket strut but let someone clear it up for me

 

Yeah, I looked into it more and talked to the seller. He said the struts are for sxt so Im not getting them. Basicly it seems, if they are sxt struts they will fit sxt sized tires, and if they were for srt, then srt sized tires. So im not getting them I need to fit srt rims with bigger then 40's.
