Just picked up some srt4 rims from a buddy of mine for cheap. They are painted black (crappy job) and one has some good curb rash (couple of good dings) anyway what is the perfect size tire to put on them when I fix em. I've heard a 40 series but I will be lowering the car within the next month with eibach sportline springs and kyb blues and making sure everything will fit nicely. Also any one local know a good shop to get these repaired. I live in ri. Let me know. Thanks

Thats what I thought. He had a set of 205/50 on them which are bald but he didnt have a problem he said. Must have thrown off his osometer.

 

if u put 205/50 on ur it would rub wit ur struts. u should run a 40 so it wont rub and 215 is da widest u can run i believe. either though a 40 series tire is not recomended for a 6 inch wide tire. im runnin 205/40 0n my srt wheels

 

thats what everyone keeps telling me. the 40 series will be dangerous to run on the srt4 rims. I do drive with my two kids in the car sometime. Curious if the kyb blues and lowering kit will let me put on 50 series tires. Anyone know

ibeen drivin like this for a good while and nutin has happened and many others are driving the same and no worries. if u want a 50 series tire u need to get srt struts or aftermarket srt struts

 

I'm runin 215/35/18 right now with stock struts, no probs.
My curb rash is alot worse than yours its just that you can't reallysee it from my pics, but if you look closely at the front right rim you will see it,its very bad.
Its that light grey line on the one spoke.

 

i been running srt rims on 215-40-17 with no prob.

 

da problem is that the srt rims are 6" wide and there not recommended to run a 40 series tire. dats why stock srt rims come wit a 50 series tire. but like i said many others have been running like this and no one has had problems
