i think that sounds like an idler pulley tryin to lock up causing it to die like that, or could be your AC compressor tryin to lock up.... is it making any grinding noises or anything around the passenger side or squealing or anything like that at all?

 

If there is little to no wind I get about 90 miles per 1/4 of a tank of gas, but there are days when I drive the same distance and use a half of a tank. However, all of my driving (90 % of it) is done on the interstate with a lot of idling unfortunately.
