as long as you can lock up the tires, then your brakes are fine. it's the rubber on the wheels that really determines braking ability. if it starts sliding at 70% braking, then you don't want to spend money on brakes until you've upgraded the tires.
Are you kidding me? the propotional valve for a 4 wheel disc car is different than just front discs, you need the right one if you are gonna convert.

I wish people would stop saying that... you really don't have to swap the valves!

Right now, i'm driving a 99 Sport with a rear-disc swap, since i'm working on my ACR. It never got the prop-valve swap, and it brakes identically to my ACR. I know the part numbers are different. I know there is a difference, but in daily driving, autocross, and trackday use, this car has always braked identically to every 4w disc car I've driven, and the owner of the Sport has driven, including his 95SC with stock 4w disc.

When was the last time you locked up your rear brakes while braking? Maybe in a turn or somethin like that, but in a straight line you will never lock up your rear brakes.

No your right you don't HAVE to switch the valve, the car will still stop and probally not to bad, but if you are gonna do something why not do it right?

Here's the howto off my car-club website for a first-gen, the procedure should be almost identical on a 2nd-gen.
