a car is considere totaled if the cost to fix the car is higher than da value. our neons are cheap and theyr value go down fast. i wouldnt have mine going for a ram i like the rumble bee

 

Why not go with a bigger car, like a Stratus or Avenger with an fuel efficient engine?

 

i think my neons have all been pretty safe. i hit a deer at 70MPH and it only did 1600 in damage and i hit another deer at 55 and it was 1200 with the same car a year later. i never hit another vehicle though. i can say that they get reasonable gas mileage and they are very reliable and cheap to fix. they stop pretty quick and handle well and are like little tanks in the winter with good snow tires on them. I havea Jeep Wrangler too and i rarely drive it in the snow cause the neons do so well. If you want good gas mileage in a bigger vehicle you could always get a different dodge like a Caravan with a 2.4. i had a 02 and it got pretty good mileage. it was far from ballsy, but it served its purpose well. like you said you have a family and whats a family without a MINIVAN!!!!

well yea the neon would be better.people compliment on the transmission because they're so reliable and rarely have problems.

 

my friends call me "the deerslayer". i have hit 7 of them so far. 2 with my 2000 (above story)+ 2 others with that same car that didnt do any damage. 1 with my 05, no damage, the deer just slid up over the windsheild as i skidded under it. 2 with my jeep. so yeah they come from out of nowhere. real funny. FYI every single one of these lil accidents were between 5:30 and 6 AM

Nothing wakes you up faster than scattering deer brains all over the road.
