Need help!
Ok so today after leaving school my CEL came on, it showed two codes
P1684 Metering Oil Pump Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction was the first one and then
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected this one really worries me
What can i do to fix it other than getting rid of the car?

ok well i disconnected the battery took the wire off off #1 and everything looked fine. Put it back on and started the car and no more CEL light. Drove for like 10 miles and hasn't come on, did the codes and still have the first one. Quick question could a loose wire cause the misfiring code, 03neonRT or graphite please chip in
I had misfire on 1,2,4, it made a loud popping sound, sounded like plastic breaking. I just replaced my plugs and its been fine since. I had previously beat the hell out of my car, I ended up having those plugs fire past themselves. Im also pretty sure graphite is done with this forum, he asked the admins to remove his name and all.

well that sucks cause graphite was a smart dude. it really made no noise. The main difference is i normally had the rough idle in drive and smooth in neutral, well with the check engine on it had a rough idle in both. Both the plugs and wires are almost new. Grantinilli and denso iridiums. Matt do you know about the other code, it hasn't tripped the light but i want no codes
well it is lik barely low, i have to do a oil change soon anyways so i'm not going to worry bout it unless the neongod says its serious

You don't have to worry about the P1684 as far as i can tell, at a generic level the P1684 stands for the Metering Oil Pump Position..., but since the code starts with the digit 1 then it means its a manufacturer specific OBD code. In this case, it just means the PCM memory has been cleared in the last 50 ignition cycles.
