New rims and tires just went down the toiletwith my plans for the neon.
Somehow the insurance company is gunna bill me 1500 bucks.
They said it was from when i was 16 and wasn't insured for 7 months and that i have to pay it before may.
I got my license in december of 2005, and didn't actually get insured till july, and now they want to bill me for it even though i barely did any driving.
Any1 else heard of this bs from the insurance company's, that if you have your license you have to be insured even if you don't have your own vehicle?

Man that sucks big time!! I my self am only 17 (about to be 18 in august) and am also avoiding insurance comapnies. My parents told me to sign my name up as being in my cousin's house, haha. And so far so good, they havent caught me yet, but if they do, i don't think it will be a pretty picture. I wonder what will happen if they do...judging from what you just mentioned, its bound to happen to me someday...would resigning your contract and going with a new insurance company do any good?

Nope, no matter what insurance i go with i have to pay that coverage for the time inbetweenmy license and my first insurer.
But my question is now? they just realized this now, this shouldn't be my fault that this was't taken care of 2 years ago.
But there is nothing i can do about it or fight it.
Seems like no neon mods this year, a shame too i really had some plans to make it look nicer.

never heard of that srt, that sounds fishy because as long as you have a liscense and no car, i would think you don't need any insurance.

It may sound a lil fishy but its true.
I called almost every insurance company and they all said" hey did know there was a time when you got your license and you weren't insured, you are gunna have to pay for that period of time".

Any1 ever hear of any thing like this?
My parents didn't even know this, or else i would have waited to get my license till i got a job.

Where do you live? Here in Ohioif you have a license and own a car even if the car is not running your are still required to have insurance on that car. When I was 16-20 (Im much older now) I didnt have insurance and when I finally got caught you have to go through a bunch of bs and pay a huge reinstatement fee. But I never heard of having to pay for not having insurance in the past. You should ask how long that law has been in effect. If they pass that law here will have alot less people on the road. You can tell the people with and without insurance. If you dont want to lose your license for 90 days (thats here in Ohio) and watch your car get towed to impound and have to pay huge fees to get your car and license back then you guys better get some king of coverage.
I learned my lesson. Theres no better lesson than watching everyone around you driving while your walking.

To contagious:
I would get wheels from tire rack but they are alittle pricy and i wasn't really excited about the choices. The law is probly different in ca, here you HAVE to have insurance to drive.

To KARR:
So it is a law, dam i was gunna try and talk my way out of it, but now it would just be useless.
Also it was the first time i was insured.
I live in ny , and you are required to have insurance to drive any car.

Tire Rack is high and have a sh!tty selection. When it comes to driving rights you can forget about "getting out of it" or "talking your way out of it" when it comes to the State. Any Traffic Court judge will tell you "Driving is a privillage, not a right".

I found a cheaper and better alternative to those wheels, buying new focal k5's to replace the old ones.
I just found a site that is selling them for 65 bucks each, Can afford those in a month, its just the tires that would take a while to save up for.
