will a first generation status 2.4 swap into a 2000 neon as far as mounts go? found a complete donor car just wondering about mount up.

 

I'd be more concerned with wiring and PCM compatibility then motor mounts...for mounts though, your upper and lower mounts should be the same, but the transmission mount will be different.

 

I know a guy's got a 97 neon. He has a 2.4L 1st gen stratus motor sitting in his garage. I offered to buy it from him and asked him if I could drop it into my 02 neon sxt and wondered if the wiring harness and computer would be the same.

He told me yes but as of yet I havent gotten the motor (looking for a newer 2.4 possibly out of a srt neon) so it should work for your 00 neon.

 

if yer gonna swap it then might as well swap for an srt 2.4L
