Default borla dual cat

Ok, within the next week or so im going to be ordering the borla dual catback exhaust off of modern...is there anything else i will need to put it on? it says its the full exhaust kit so i dont imagine there would be anything extra i would need, i just want to make sure so when i get it i can just put it right on and not have to delay because im missing something. Im also going to be adding the borla header within the next few months, hopefully combined it will add some horsepower, what else is there after the exhaust and header? other than the intake to increase horsepower/acceleration??? I have a 2001 neon se.

easy ways to add horses besides the breathing of the engine would be buying a computer for your car, they may be pricy, but well worth the investment, try www.howellautomotive.com They carry plenty of neon parts you may find interesting

Yea the main pages i look at for parts are modern and howell, I read in another post about cams...what exactly do they do? what benifits will it ad to my neon? also are there any other small mods i could do? not necessarly small in price just not having to pull the whole engine out. I was considering a turbo later down the road, the one on modern the chill factory one, i saw its a kit, so by buying that is that all i would need to get it on? or are there other parts i would need? right now the engine is stock other than a K&N air filter, but like i said the exhaust and header will be on soon. What other upgrades have you guys done with your neons??

I too have a Borla CAT BACK dual tip exhaust due at my house this Wednesday. I plan on installing that along with my intake at that time. Mine is still under warranty so I am going to wait on the Borla Header for now (plus not much left in the ol' wallet after the intake and exhaust purchase []).

I also heard that changing out the CAM would increase horsepower and torque but that involved some tilting of the engine and a few parts being removed. I think there is a link out here in the forums that covers swapping out the CAMS, I will try to find it and send you a link so you can at least gauge if it is worth swapping out or not at this point in the game.

I think the exhaust is custom made to fit as is without any additional parts at installation.

I will try to let you know about the Borla this week if I can get some decent weather to put it in.

As stated before, the computer would really be a must especially if you are going to put in a turbo.

You can't run a performance PCM with a turbo, it will go BOOM very shortly. The performance PCMs are too rich.

That is good to know. Thanks for clarifying this information for me. I read otherwise and thought it was a little off, that's what I get for relaying info w/o knowing it to be completely true or not.

At least I know now. Thanks again casper!
