Default couldnt find a answer...

i searched the forum but could not find the answer for why my car idles at 3500 rpm after start up...when i shut it off then back on it idles at 1000...thanks in advance

It shouldn't idle that high. It should "maybe" reach that high when you first turn it on but even that's really high.

Your IAC or TPS might be going out

yeah and i also forgot to mention it sounds like its revving...keep in mind im not moving or in gear...lol but thanks adionik i will check that out...

You probably have a vac leak as well...if the cars starts revving on it's own it's usually that. Check around the throttle body for all those little hoses and the PCV valve
