Wow, you guys have it lucky, Up here in ALBERTA...where most of the damn oil comes from it WAS $1.46-something/ litre...which is about 5.51 dollars a gallon(1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres).
Now it's about 1.18/litre. That's still $4.46 a gallon.
Move up here then bitch about gas prices.
You do bring up an interesting argument... for most advanced industrialized nations, the U.S. does pay one of the lowest amounts for gasolene compared to other countried. I know in eastern Europe, they still pay about $7 a gollon for it, which is ridiculous since their oil is shipped to them directly from the Middle East.
The only place I heard of it being cheaper was Iraq and Saudi Arabia... I heard than back in 2001, gas prices there were equivilant to $0.11 a gallon in U.S. dollars. Good stuff...
Venezuela is very cheap as well, .11 earlier this year. I'm sure it isn't much more expensive now. Most the other countries that have cheap gas are in the middle east. I think venezuela might be the only country away from there that have really cheap prices, but I believe they have a lot of production there.
Just filled up at $2.81 a gallon, just hope these prices last or get better.
Dang...I don't remember the last time it was that low around here. I think its been close to a year since it was that price here. Weird thing here is north side of town is 3.59ish, and the south side of town is around 3.39. Kind of jacked up there is that much of a difference. Transportation cost can't account for almost 20 cents. Its only a matter of 10 miles or so from south side of town to the north end....
